3rd International Conference - Hybrid, electric and fuel-cell propulsion systems
June 17, 2009
The establishment of an eco-sustainable mobility system is fundamental to assure social benefits for environment protection and for the appropriate management of the energy resources.
In addition to the significant progress of conventional powertrains, which has been achieved and the use of alternative fuels, that contribute to fuel consumption and emissions reduction, the alternative technologies based on the electric traction are presenting new solutions to improve the transport system in terms of environment quality and energy saving.
Hybrid, electric and fuel-cell systems are interconnected in the use of components and subsystems, which are based on the same electric energy management concepts.
This Conference is addressing these topics and will offer a timing appropriate opportunity to consider the level of development, the technology status and trends, the application in different categories of vehicles.
The topics are divided into sessions, dedicated to:
- Hybrid vehicles and systems
- Electric and solar vehicles
- Hydrogen and fuel-cell applications
- Electric enabling technologies
- Energy, environment and economical aspects.
The achievement of the social and environmental targets of the future road transport system depends on the coordinated engagement of all operators involved: industry, research and academic institutions, public authorities and, to a large extent, on the diffusion of the culture and the willingness to reach these objectives.
The present world situation related to the energy availability and supply, the cost of fuels, the instability of relations among countries are additional issues, which bring the subject of alternative mobility solutions to our attention. Every region should consider to make value .
