Formula TECH 2005
22 settembre 2005 - 25 settembre 2005
During the Formula ATA event, from the 22nd to the 25th of September 2005, in cooperation with CEI-CIVES (Commissione Italiana Veicoli Elettrici Stradali), exhibitions and tests of electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles also took place.
Participants could choose among three categories:
- Project only
- Static presentation
- Dynamic presentation
Students' teams coming from universities (Italian or international) or supported by companies were invited to participate. Two, three or four wheels vehicles were accepted.
During the event three Fiat Research Center prototypes were displayed:
The European project GALLANT has been devoted to the demonstration and the evaluation of the benefits of the use of an advanced and certified Global Navigation Satellite Service (Galileo) for improving Road Safety and Mobility. The project represented an important improvement of the prototype system developed in the last years within different national and international initiative using existing localisation system (GPS) integrated with ADAS
The European Project CarTALK 2000 has been focussed on new driver assistance systems which are based upon inter-vehicle communication. The main objectives are the development of co-operative driver assistance systems, demonstrating assistance functions in probe vehicles in real or reconstructed traffic scenarios, and the development of a self-organising ad-hoc radio network as a communication basis with the aim of preparing a future standard.
Infonebbia is a common research project between FIAT Research Center and ANAS (Italian road Authority). The aim of this project is to develop and test an integrated system to support the driver in low visibility scenario (with major accent on Fog).
Key points of the research are the integration between the drivers (in his car) and the infrastructure, and the global approach to the problem supported by a monitoring system that centrally controls all the involved parameters (weather sensors, car sensors, traffic sensors, safety cars, ...) and decide the actuation of one or more support strategies (using variable message signs, on board unit, optical systems, ...).
