ATA, the Italian Automotive Technical Association, in collaboration with SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), organizes the 8^th edition of the Formula SAE Italy & Formula Electric Italy, a competition that challenges teams of university undergraduate and graduate students to conceive, design, fabricate and compete with small, formula style, autocross racing cars encouraging them in their creativity attitudes, know-how and team spirit.

To this year event combustion and electric vehicles will be admitted.

The combustion event will follow the official Formula SAE 2012 rules (http://students.sae.org/competitions/formulaseries/rules/2012fsaerules.pdf).

The electric event, will admit Formula SAE chassis with electric motor following technical rules consistent with the German Formula Student Electric and Formula Student ones.

The detailed technical rules will be published shortly.

The event will take place at the "Riccardo Paletti" Circuit in Varano de' Melegari (PR) on Friday 14 to Monday 17 September 2012.

The registration will open on Wednesday 18 January 2012 at 10 AM CET (GMT +1). The pre-registration for the 2011 event winning teams will open on Wednesday 11 at 10.00 AM CET (GMT + 1) to Thursday 12 January 2012 at 2.00 PM CET (GMT +1).
