Formula Electric & Hybrid Italy 2008

Formula Electric & Hybrid Italy is dedicated to alternative propulsion vehicles and offers participants a vision of recent developments of technologies in the ecological mobility field. Formula EHI sake is to bring to light international universities contributions to ecological mobility giving them the chance to compete among them in static and dynamic tests. They also have the opportunity to discuss their projects with a Technical Committee, whose members are maximum experts in the field, including CIVES, WEVA and AVERE representatives.

What Formula EHI is

The Formula ELECTRIC & HYBRID ITALY (EHI) addresses the development and competitive demonstration of advanced electric & hybrid vehicles performed by university students integrating powertrains based on advanced technologies.

As a part of the goal is to address the industry attention to new solutions in this field, suitable to be transferred to the engineering and industrial development process.

Another aim is to stimulate and activate exchange of information and contacts among Academic Institutions and relevant supportive Industries about these new and socially beneficial technologies.

Formula EHI welcomes the following categories:

  • Four wheel vehicle single seat, formula style body (as for 2007 Formula Hybrid) equipped with Battery or solar electric, Hybrid electric with Internal Combustion Engine, with one or more external energy sources, Fuel Cell electric, fuelled with hydrogen
  • Two, Three or four wheel vehicles, equipped with the following types of powertrain Battery electric, Hybrid or dual mode electric with Internal Combustion Engine, Fuel Cell electric, fuelled with hydrogen
  • Systems, Components and Projects.

The Evaluation and the awards will be diven by a jury of experts on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Innovation level
  • Energy effectiveness
  • Operational response 
  • Environmental impact
  • Industrial and utilisation aspects

Students are invited to participate as university team of scientific faculties, organized in team of ten members maximum.
